Not up-to-date knowledge is dangerous to democracy - Puerto Rico Daily Sun - 06/02/12

via Puerto Rico News on 2/6/12

Shame on Piero Andujar for not being properly informed about the wonderful work of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. The Voting Rights Act of 1965 gave African Americans the de facto right to vote. Women did get the de facto right to vote way before African Americans. The 15th Amendment to the United States Constitution was a joke in providing African Americans the right to vote.

Piero Andujar, not being fully and properly informed, insults not only the great civil rights leader Martin Luther King, but all African Americans. Not up-to-date knowledge is dangerous to democracy. He should learn to listen to learn rather than personally attack when not properly informed.

The Voting Rights Act of 1965 is now being used by the Obama Administration to halt Republican efforts to limit the voting rights of African Americans in the Presidential and General Elections of 2012.

via Puerto Rico Newswire on 2/10/12

Puerto Rico Daily Sun - Inter News Service - February 10, 2012 An internet survey carried out by Angus Reid Public Opinion company at the end of January demonstrated that Americans prefer independence for Puerto Rico instead of turning the island into a state - 21 percent of the 1008 polled, whom are panelists from Springboard American, stated that they favored the island becoming the 51st state of the Union. However, 23 percent of those polled said they would favor Puerto Rico becoming an independent country. Of those polled, 32 percent preferred the current political relationship between the island and the United States. This was the majority option chosen between Republicans and Democrats. Notwithstanding, among Republicans and independents, 25 percent favored independence. That same percentage, in the case of Democrats, favored statehood for the island. People between 18 and 34 years, preferred the separation of the island from the United States. Men favored the status quo more so than women. The survey had a 3.1 percent margin of error. Senator from Puerto Rico Caught with Pants Down
Sen. Roberto Arango has resigned on Sunday after compromising photos of him reportedly surfaced last week on the gay app Grinder. Arango is a Republican lawmaker who represents the capital of San Juan. In the aftermath of these accusations, Arango took the 'neither confirm, nor deny' approach saying, "I really don't remember having taken those pictures of myself, but it doesn't mean I didn't take them. I really don't remember." However, that tactic seems to be the kiss of death for today's politicians.
