ICE said its Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), working jointly with the Puerto Rico Crimes Against Children Task Force, conducted the investigation that led to the arrest and subsequent sentencing of Andres Ruiz-Huertas.
He was arrested on February 19 after HSI received a tip from the Puerto Rico Police Department that led to the execution of a search warrant.
HSI seized several digital electronic storage devices during the search warrant, ICE said.
It said a preliminary analysis of the seized materials revealed explicit videos of Ruiz-Huertas engaging in sexual acts with multiple minors.
The investigation was conducted under HSI’s Operation Predator, an international initiative to protect children from sexual predators.
Since the launch of Operation Predator in 2003, over 10,000 individuals have been arrested for crimes against children.
