PBSNewsHour's YouTube Videos: WATCH: Will Barr let any members of Congress see the full report?

From: PBSNewsHour
Duration: 07:20

Rep. Ed Case, D-Hawaii, asked U.S. Attorney General William Barr in a hearing whether Barr thought that there was any circumstance that any member of Congress would have access to the full Mueller report. "We're sitting here, from my persepctive, with virtually unlimited discretion for you to redact from that document," Case said. "And maybe if I trusted my government more, I would be comfortable with that." Case said he was looking for some way that Barr's discretion would be subject to oversight. Barr said that, when the report was ready for release, he would give it to the chairmen of the judiciary committees and discuss what additional information they wanted and why.

Vladimir Putin Says Mueller Report Validates Russia’s Denials of Collusion

(ST. PETERSBURG, Russia) — Russian President Vladimir Putin says special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation report validated Moscow’s repeated denials of collusion with U.S. between President Donald Trump’s campaign.
Speaking at an Arctic forum in St. Petersburg on Tuesday, Putin said claims of collusion by Democrats reflect their failure to accept the outcome of the 2016 presidential election.
Putin says he thinks their attacks on Trump are a disrespect to voters and reflect a crisis of the U.S. political system.
The Russian leader said he hopes partisan fighting in Washington eases so the U.S. and Russia can focus on issues of mutual interest, such as nuclear arms control, fighting terrorism and climate change.
Asked if Russia would support Trump’s re-election in 2020, Putin said only that Moscow would “respect the choice of the American people.”

Attorney General William Barr is testifying today in a House appropriations subcommittee hearing. Barr's opening remarks did not mention special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia report. The hearing is largely about the Justice Department's Fiscal Year 2020 budget request, but that hasn't stopped lawmakers from asking Barr about when the report would be made public, and how Barr reached the conclusions in his own four page summary of the report.

WATCH: Barr: 'I've said what I'm going to say' about the Mueller report

From: PBSNewsHour
Duration: 06:49

In a House subcommittee hearing, Attorney General William Barr declined to answer a question from Rep. Nita Lowey, D-N.Y., over whether the White House had seen special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia report before or after he released his summary of Mueller's findings.
"I said what I'm going say about the report today," he said. "I've already laid out the process that is going forward to release these reports hopefully within a week, and I'm not going to say anything more about it until the report is out and everyone has a chance to look at it."
The hearing is largely about the Justice Department's budget request, but that hasn't prevented lawmakers from asking questions about the Mueller report's public release, possible redactions and President Donald Trump's comments on its findings.

PBSNewsHour's YouTube Videos: WATCH: Barr's quick turnaround of Mueller summary 'more suspicious than impressive,' Rep. Lowey says

From: PBSNewsHour
Duration: 04:11

Before delving into the Justice Department's FY 2020 budget request, Rep. Nita Lowey, D-N.Y., chair of the House Appropriations Committee, told U.S. Attorney General William Barr that she wanted to address his "unacceptable handling" of special counsel Robert Mueller's report. "All we have is your four-page summary, which seems to cherry pick from the report to draw the most favorable conclusion possible for the president," she said. "The American people deserve the facts."

Vladimir Putin says Mueller's Russia report is a ‘mouse’ not a ‘mountain’ — Meduza

President Vladimir Putin has finally weighed in on the finished U.S. Justice Department investigation into Russian election meddling and collusion in America’s 2016 presidential race, telling reporters on Tuesday, “The mountain gave birth to a mouse,” referring to one of Aesop's Fables.
“We said from the start that Mr. Mueller’s notorious commission wouldn’t find anything. [...] So the fact that it’s concluded like this is like ‘the mountain giving birth to a mouse,’ as it were. It was clear to us well in advance,” the president said, repeating again that the Russian government didn’t interfere in the U.S. presidential election and never colluded with Donald Trump’s campaign. Putin also called the Mueller investigation “total nonsense,” describing it as a domestic political attack on the Trump administration.
President Putin ignored the Mueller report’s findings that the Russian state did in fact try to meddle in American electoral politics and facilitate Donald Trump’s victory through cyberattacks on the Democratic Party and Internet propaganda designed to sow political discord. Russian officials have categorically denied these allegations.
Throughout his two-year special investigation, Robert Mueller indicted 25 Russian nationals: a dozen suspected military intelligence officers who allegedly hacked and leaked documents from the U.S. Democratic Party, and 13 “troll factory” staff who supposedly committed conspiracy to defraud the U.S., conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud, and aggravated identity theft.
