This female individual is an advocate for full civil rights for the population of gays and lesbians in the island of Puerto Rico.
However, the columnists opinion is that it is "overkill" on the part of some gay advocates/participants who are being quite disrespectful and despicable in derogatory things said on sign placards regarding other's faith.
However, her point is basically that this animosity and despicable behavior on the part of some these protestors (including signs saying "Your god is an ******" will only breed resentment in the long run.
She suggests that is not the way to go about securing one's civil rights.
Apparently, this columnist-journalist Ms Sandra Rodriguez-Cotto has been in the forefront for some time in the island advocating for the issues that affect this population.
Ms Rodriguez says that this kind of animosity on the part of the gays was not what she was fighting for.

My opinion is that no rights should be seriously considered for people who comport themselves this way in the process..NO!
God will all sort it out in the end anyhow.
