I imagine that all they wanted out of Emilio Diaz Columbus Police will be quiet. I guess the deluded hope that immediately remove the crime wave that envelops us and this country will become the land of wonders overnight.
These are the same as ignoring the root causes and the crime we suffer today on our island and of which we are most responsible.
We have abandoned the moral and ethical values that existed decades ago in favor of unbridled consumerism and competition for possessing material things, without stopping to consider the further effects in the short and long term.
Starting with our elected to positions of power, far from being an example to anyone, twist the truth and violate with impunity all the laws, which are often issued by the same.
It is thought that the police chief is the only one who has the responsibility to fix this and we forget that apathy reigns in us and nothing we bring solutions to our problems. We are always part of the problem rather than part of the solution. The fateful fanaticism we live prevents us from pointing out the culprits and make them pay for their sins.
While this continues, we can not expect our situation to improve, regardless of whether a new superintendent of police every month. Fever is the sheet but in the patient.

There are many reasons to be happy with Carmen Yulin Cruz candidacy for mayor of San Juan by the PDP.
Among them is an intelligent, honest, has people skills and is honored. It endorses a just and noble causes. Represents hope for the residents of the capital city has a mayor who suffers wear and likes to create controversy almost always with the poor and not dialogue.
Carmen Yulin has been in solidarity with students at the University of Puerto Rico, with the Bar Council, opposition to the pipeline and has empathy with the people of Caño Martín Peña. Carmen Yulin represents the unity and solidarity with the residents of San Juan and Puerto Rico because it works with a heart.

La buena relación entre naciones se cultiva con los afectos que se desarrollan entre su gente. Los estadoístas cifran en lo material y la conveniencia sus esperanzas de que Estados Unidos promueva la integración de Puerto Rico a la Unión Federal.
La nación anglosajona que nos invadiera en 1898 nos hizo saber enseguida que interesaba el territorio y despreciaba a sus habitantes. Eran, para ellos, cultural y económicamente distintos y ciertamente categorizados como inferiores.
El puertorriqueño, a pesar de ser parte de una sociedad pobre, atesora su lengua española, se siente orgulloso de sus costumbres y muy dispuesto a trabajar y compartir con la democracia “americana”, pero en un plano de igualdad y respeto.
Washington nunca nos ha visto como iguales y eso ha creado entre ellos y nosotros un déficit de afectos. Por eso, cuando al pueblo puertorriqueño se le consulta para en las urnas votar mayoritariamente por la estadidad; le revienta en la cara a los estadoístas un rechazo parecido al reflejado en la encuesta de El Nuevo Día.
Y se sorprenden que los puertorriqueños no quieran fundirse en la nación “americana”; y que quieran seguir hablando español e identificándose con su Equipo Nacional de Baloncesto en las Olimpiadas de Londres.
Porque en la vida no hay nada más importante que los afectos. Algo que no se compra con dinero.

Me imagino que ya todos los que deseaban la salida de Emilio Díaz Colón de la Policía estarán tranquilos. Supongo que los ilusos esperan que de inmediato se elimine la ola de criminalidad que nos arropa y este país se convierta en el país de las maravillas de la noche a la mañana.
Esos son los mismos que ignoran las causas y la raíz de la criminalidad que hoy sufrimos en nuestra isla y de la cual somos nosotros los máximos responsables.
Hemos abandonado los valores morales y éticos que existían hace varias décadas atrás en pro del consumismo desmedido y la competencia por poseer cosas materiales, sin detenernos a pensar los efectos ulteriores a corto y largo plazo.
Comenzando por nuestros elegidos a las posiciones de poder, que distan mucho de ser ejemplo para alguien, se tuercen las verdades y se viola impunemente todas las leyes, que muchas veces son promulgadas por estos mismos.
Se piensa que el jefe de la Policía es el único que tiene la responsabilidad de arreglar esto y se nos olvida que la apatía reina en nosotros y nada aportamos para las soluciones de nuestros problemas. Siempre somos parte del problema en vez de ser parte de las soluciones. El fanatismo fatídico que vivimos nos impide señalar los culpables y hacerlos pagar por sus faltas.
Mientras esto siga así, no podemos esperar que nuestra situación mejore, independientemente de que haya un nuevo superintendente de la Policía todos los meses. La fiebre no está en la sábana sino en el enfermo.

Apoyo a causas justas
Hay muchas razones para estar contentos con la candidatura de Carmen Yulín Cruz para alcaldesa de San Juan por el Partido Popular Democrático.
Entre ellas que es una persona inteligente, íntegra, tiene don de gente y es honrada. Ha dado su apoyo a causas justas y nobles. Representa la esperanza para los residentes de la ciudad capital que tiene un alcalde que sufre desgaste y que le gusta crear polémicas casi siempre con los humildes y que no dialoga.
Carmen Yulín ha sido solidaria con los estudiantes de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, con el Colegio de Abogados, opositora al gasoducto y tiene empatía con la gente del Caño Martín Peña. Carmen Yulín representa la unidad y la solidaridad con los residentes de San Juan y todo Puerto Rico porque trabaja con corazón.
