Mike Nova: "Linguistic Imperialism" Is Not A Precondition Of American Statehood For Puerto Rico
The Framers did not mention it and language requirements do not exist in the US Constitution.
English became the language of the World. If someone, whoever they are, want to hear and to speak to the World, they have to speak English. Which does not exclude other languages, cultures and traditions. Spanish is the USA second language and we should learn it too. Puerto Ricans speak English quite widely and will speak it even more widely when Puerto Rico becomes a state, which is in the best interests of the country (or both countries).

Los redactores de la Constitución no lo menciona, y los requisitos de idioma no existen en la Constitución de los EE.UU..
Inglés se convirtió en el lenguaje del mundo. Si alguien, sea quien sea, quieren escuchar y hablar con el mundo, tienen que hablar Inglés. Lo cual no excluye otros idiomas, culturas y tradiciones. El español es el idioma de EE.UU. segundos y debemos aprender también. Los puertorriqueños hablan Inglés bastante amplia y va a hablar más ampliamente cuando Puerto Rico se convierte en un estado, que está en los mejores intereses del país (o en ambos países).
